4 Vials of Sculptra to the Temples and Lower Face in Fort Lauderdale,
by Johana Castillo, PA
4 vials of Sculptra delivered across two sessions to restore volume to the temples and lower face. Treated by Johana Castillo, PA at our Fort Lauderdale clinic, with results that build gradually over months.
The concern
The patient came to our Fort Lauderdale clinic looking for a more youthful appearance, without anything that would read as obviously treated. She felt her face had lost structure over time, with hollowing visible in her temples and softness through her lower face that she wanted to address gradually rather than all at once. She was clear at consultation that she wanted to look like a refreshed version of herself, not someone who had had work done. This made Sculptra a particularly good fit for her goals, because the treatment builds results gradually over months rather than producing an instant change.
The consultation
Johana assessed the patient's overall facial structure and identified the temples and lower face as the areas with the most pronounced volume loss. The clinical decision was to treat with Sculptra rather than hyaluronic acid filler. The two work in fundamentally different ways: hyaluronic acid adds immediate volume and lasts 12 to 18 months, while Sculptra stimulates the patient's own collagen production gradually, with results that build over several months and last considerably longer. The treatment plan was 4 vials of Sculptra delivered across two sessions, with 2 vials per session, separated by one month. This pacing reflects Galderma's recommended maximum of 2 vials to the face per session, allowing the body's collagen response to begin before adding more product. A useful rule of thumb for Sculptra dosing: most patients need approximately 1 vial for every decade of life. This patient's 4-vial plan reflected her age and the amount of volume restoration her face required.
The treatment
Each session took around 45 minutes from start to finish, including the thorough massage of the treatment areas that is essential to how Sculptra is applied. Product was administered using a blunt cannula across multiple injection points in the temples and lower face. The patient left each session the same day with mild swelling and possible minor bruising, both of which resolved within several days.
Results at two weeks
The follow-up photograph reflects the patient's progress over time rather than a two-week result, because Sculptra builds gradually as the body produces its own collagen in response to the treatment. The patient's temples are visibly fuller, her lower face reads more structured, and her overall appearance is more refreshed. There is no overfilled look, no obvious sign of treatment, and the changes feel like natural restoration rather than transformation. The result will continue to refine over the months following treatment.
A word from Johana Castillo, PA
“I like to think of Sculptra as a 401(k) for your face. It's an investment in long-term collagen stimulation and facial rejuvenation. My goal is to restore volume gradually and naturally, creating results that improve over time rather than looking overdone.”
Common questions about Sculptra in Fort Lauderdale
How is Sculptra different from dermal filler?
Sculptra and dermal filler are fundamentally different treatments. Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) adds immediate volume to the face and typically lasts 12 to 18 months. Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) stimulates your own collagen production gradually over several months, with results that build over time and last up to two years or longer.
How many vials of Sculptra will I need?
The number of vials depends on individual anatomy, volume loss, and goals. Most patients require multiple vials delivered across several sessions, spaced weeks apart, to allow collagen production to build between treatments. Your Sisu provider will recommend a personalised plan at consultation.
How long does it take to see Sculptra results?
Sculptra results build gradually over 3 to 6 months as your own collagen production responds to the treatment. This is one of the key differences from hyaluronic acid filler, which is visible immediately. Sculptra is well-suited to patients who want a gradual, natural-looking result rather than an instant change.
