The concern
The patient came to our Montrose Collective clinic in Houston with a single, specific goal: softer forehead lines. The horizontal lines across her forehead had become more visible at rest over the last few years, and she felt they were making her look tired even when she was not. She wanted a smoother, fresher look — without losing movement, expression, or anything that made her face look like hers.
The consultation
Dana assessed the patient's forehead at rest and in animation, and reviewed her wider facial expression. The pattern of lines was largely dynamic, driven by frontalis activity, with the beginning of static etching across the central forehead. The recommendation was a conservative dose of Botox™ across the frontalis and glabella, treated together to keep the brow balanced and natural in movement. Treating the forehead in isolation can sometimes drop the brow, so addressing both areas together was a clinical decision rather than a cosmetic upsell. The patient was given realistic expectations: full results visible at two weeks, lasting an average of three to four months.
The treatment
The appointment took around 20 minutes from start to finish. Botox™ was administered using a fine needle technique with multiple small injection points across the forehead and between the brows. The patient left the clinic the same day with no visible marks and returned to her normal routine immediately. No bruising, no downtime.
Results at two weeks
The two-week photograph shows a noticeably smoother forehead, with the horizontal lines softened both at rest and in expression. The brow position is preserved, the eyes look more open and rested, and the patient retains natural movement. There is no frozen appearance, no heaviness, and no change to her resting expression. This is representative of what a well-placed Botox™ treatment can achieve when the goal is restraint rather than transformation.
