Session 1: Your first treatment
Your medical injector administers Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) into the targeted areas. The session takes around 30 minutes. You may notice some immediate volume from the water content of the solution, but this will settle within a few days. Mild swelling or bruising is normal. You will be advised to massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 days.
Week 6: Session 2: building the foundation
Your second Sculptra session builds on the foundation of the first. By now, the initial water volume from session 1 has resolved and your body has begun producing new collagen. Your injector assesses your progress and treats accordingly. Most patients require 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Week 12: Session 3 (if needed)
